Recycling On Your Website

Fortunately, there is more and more talk about not wasting resources: saving food, reworking old clothes, recycling rubbish. Fortunately, any company can apply this rule as well … on their website.

Note: do not throw away the content!

There are several ways to recycle items on your site rather than producing new ones. Many people believe that it is better to write another one than to grind the same thing over and over again; meanwhile, the “next” one is often just a non-substantive beating of foam because we do not have an idea for anything concrete. But will something like this attract more readers than one of the thoughtful old texts? Not necessarily! And someone has to write it and receive a salary.

So there’s no need to wait: use your content to its full potential!

Promote what is good

Just because some text is old doesn’t mean it should go to the bin! There are articles that do not have an expiry date, and they are timeless, and we call them then evergreen (always green). This type of content should be periodically recalled and promoted on social media. If necessary, you can update their title or add new data.

Redo what is no longer useful

Some texts, however, are no longer relevant. What to do with them then? Certainly not to throw it away! They can be successfully used to write a new article by borrowing the topic or even the best paragraphs. The user rarely browses the company’s blog since a few months back and rarely remembers that something similar has happened before. And even if you do, you can surprise him:

  • adding current statistics, industry reports,
  • infographics, illustrations,
  • video material (it can even complement the content of the new text!).

These are just a few of the most popular ideas. A very interesting option is also to divide the text into several parts to publish them in the form of a series of posts on Facebook. Keep this in mind the next time you complain that you have nothing to post!

What is recyclable?

Certainly not everything. First, analyze your website: which texts generated the most visits? You can check this with Google Analytics or rate the reactions under a promoting social media post. Perhaps an article clearly motivated followers to buy?

Of course, the greatest benefit of such recycling is time and resource savings. Instead of creating something of low quality, you maximize the potential of existing texts and show yourself as a true industry expert!
